Fanmix #3! ♥ Getting hang of this stuff. This mix is a little different, as I actually took the time to jot down my thoughts for each song...which is why this took so long. XD Lazy, man...anyway...

KyoXTohru was a pairing that, at first, I did not like. I was more found of Kyo with Uo, however reading further into the series, I saw that Tohru truly did care for Kyo and Kyo for Tohru...and the pairing just sort of grew on me. Fruits Basket was one of my first major fandoms, so doing a fanmix for it means a lot to me. Then again, I saw that with every fanmix. XD So, enjoy!

Enter Kyo, an angry almost member of the Chinese Zodiac. This Sohma was unsure of his place in his family and in his own life. He took out all his aggression on those around him. In all honesty, he just wanted to find his place amongst family, friends...he hadn't a soul to soothe his pain or who would understand him.

As if by a chance, Miss Tohru Honda wandered into the Sohma's home. She was peaceful, overly optimstic and a bit of a space cadet, however in her, Kyo saw something he hadn't seen in quite a while. Tohru was different, different from his family, from who he had been surrounded by. With just a smile, Kyo felt himself unsure of what he should be thinking about this mysterious girl who longed to be born in the Year of the Cat.

Tohru began to stay with the Sohmas and that's when Kyo began to actually stay home. Kyo and Tohru, along with Kyo's rival and cousin, Yuki, began to share moments of peace...however that wouldn't last long. Yuki was nicknamed 'The Prince', for obvious reasons and deep in his mind, he knew that he could never be like Yuki and in turn, perhaps he would never be able to make Tohru smile the way Yuki did.

Slowly, however surely, Kyo began to feel different in a way. He felt himself subdued by her smile, by her charm and he couldn't deal with such a thing. He became a bit more fierce in attitude, however that didn't stop Tohru from smiling, from conversing with him, from wanting to be a Cat. However, Tohru being just a tad spacey, wouldn't soon realise that Kyo had indeed fallen for her.

Despite his feelings, what did Kyo know about love?! He hadn't the tact, an obvious point. Besides that, Kyo knew who held Tohru's fragile heart. It grew harder and harder just to look at Tohru; he couldn't ignore this. She had a sincereity within her being that Kyo just could not escape...perhaps this was truly love.

Perhaps the big confession? Kyo knows this girl, as simple as she is, is causing all of these odd feelings, these sensations. Nothing seems right anymore and despite the lack of confidence in himself, Tohru can still see the 'plum on his back'. He may doubt this, believing the Prince Yuki has her heart, however in the very back of his mind, he knew everything would be okay, as long as Tohru was around.

Being excluded from his own home, his own family, he had lost most of his innocence and his genuine feelings, replacing them with anger and rage. He was left to continue through life in the shadow of the original Zodiac, always two steps behind Yuki. Despite Kagura's urges to make him see he was accepted, he didn't feel it. He had Tohru within his veins and being accepted by her seemed to be the ultimate acceptance.

He may have trained with bears [so says the rumor] and he may have battled back against tougher opponents [a lost, as per Yuki] but this seemed to be the hardest task he would ever have to go through. He had sealed himself, his anger and regret, away and out of sight and to open up if even in the slightest was taking a risk. However, it seemed Miss Honda was worth that risk. And she would have to prove worthy as she would be put up against what Kyo truly was...and that's what scared him.

Kyo's truest form...the deepest and darkest part of his heart. He knew he wasn't accepted and once Tohru had witnessed his grotesque transformation, it was all over. He thought that no one, not even Tohru, would be able to overcome the demon within him. What Kyou did not expect was for Tohru to see him, for her to look upon him and offer the hand of love, the hand of acceptance.

In her arms he was carried into a life he hadn't known. They had overcome every obstacle, faced every fear and the two had made it out alive...and together. He found someone who accepted him and she found someone who would fill that void, who would allow her smile to burn bright. Their meeting, their formed love...it was truly a miracle.

When Kyo allowed Tohru to enter his heart, he was allowing himself to heal those bruises he carried upon his soul. Perhaps it was fear that Tohru would turn out to be like his mother, like his family...however, she was now in his system, she was within him, the blood in his veins and the one thing that would allow him to believe that there was still love in the world...and Kyo had found the purest form in Miss Tohru Honda.
