the chardonnay

an alumni of the academy, just like her old high school enemy The Mimosa, The Chardonnay believes herself to be the number two go-to person for all matters Palais---second only to the headmistress, a job that she's aiming for once the current headmistress retires. her prize student is The Queen and she has a habit of playing favorites.

  • the merlot

she comes from a very old and traditional family so it's no wonder The Merlot teaches french and ballroom dance. she's also married to a man her family chose for her. but there's no love there, which is why she's carrying on an affair with The Mojito.

  • the burgundy

she's strict and no-nonsense and students know that if you're caught in misdeed, she'll have little lenience. just ask The Larkspur or The Duck, whose misdeeds regularly put them on her blacklist. little do they know she's not as strict as she seems and has actually interceeded for them with the headmistress on numerous occasions.

  • the champagne

although she means well, The Champagne is entirely the product of her upbringing. she's pretentious and much less world-wise than she thinks she is. she has a habit of giving bad advice, which she thinks is great advice. particularly to students like The Maiden and The Mouse. her tendency to not use things like logic in her arguments frequently gets her into screaming matches with The Manhattan.

  • the martini

she's soft spoken, elegant, patient, and calm, but The Martini is quite open with her thoughts and feelings. the best example is the way she confessed her feelings to The Kahlua. she doesn't seem to feel the need to hide what she thinks, particularly about other people. unlike most with this attitude, however, she's able to practice a little thing called tact. she has a very good relationship with her sister The Appletini.

  • the cosmopolitan

the love doctor has nothing on The Cosmopolitan. relationships are her forte, which is obvious from the fact that gifts from various admirers seem to constantly be arriving for her. more than a day or two doesn't go by without her classes being interrupted at least once by a delivery boy with a bouquet. something she has a bad habit of flaunting infront of her former lover, The Daiquiri, whose usual indifference frustrates her.

  • the margarita

quite possibly the most popular teacher in school, The Margarita is funny, friendly, and just a little immature. she can sometimes act more like a teen than an adult. it probably wouldn't be that big of a surprise if people found out she was dating a student. they would, however, be shocked to know that student is The Azalea. naturally they've been secretive about their relationship and so far she's told only her best friend, The Seabreeze.

  • the manhattan

never afraid of talking about those tough subjects, The Manhattan is very opinionated, which makes those government and world history classes she teaches pretty interesting. she loves debates and people willing to fight the system, so it's no wonder her favorite students are The Tulip and The Hare. although usually level headed, The Champagne frustrates her so much that she often gets into screaming matches with the other woman.

  • the appletini

although often compared to her sister, The Martini, because of her calm and composed seeming exterior, The Appletini has a mischievous streak that only her students a few close co-workers, such as The Burgundy, whom she's in love with, know about. she enjoys teasing people and feigning innocence--all in good fun. just don't get her mad, because then she is a force to be reckoned with.

  • the mimosa

she's that teacher who's on top of all those student tricks and strategies. mostly because The Mimosa use to be the one using them, back during her days as a student at Palais. those days are remembered all to well by The Chardonnay, her old high school enemy whom she often bumps heads with. luckily she has The Sangria's blunt wit on her side.

  • the kahlua

she has a resume like you wouldn't believe and despite her relatively young age, she actually has two doctorates. obviously The Kahlua is what that brainy girl in school grows up to be; brilliant, awkward, and with a D in self confidence. which is why she was stunned when The Martini confessed to her and she's been even more awkward and clumsy ever since.

  • the daiquiri

sink or try to swim is The Daiquiri's policy. she's quite an apathetic person and while she's an attentive and devoted mentor to those who wish to learn, she is more or less indifferent to those who don't. she can sometimes come off as a little emotionless, which drives her former lover The Cosmopolitan up a wall, but a few close friends and favorite students have seen the way she can smile when she's pleased with you.

  • the mai tai

there's no quirky teacher quite like The Mai Tai and serious students who take her classes usually end up tearing their hair out. she's a very random person and you can never be sure what she's going to do. how will the midterm be structured? in iambic pentameter! extra credit? um...buy me a sandwich. her cousin, The Pina Colada would say that to expect the unexpected is the best way of dealing with her.

  • the seabreeze

you might recognize The Seabreeze from a few episodes of Ocean Planet, where she talked about her research on giant sting rays. although you may not remember the information so much as the part when she fell off the boat. she still hasn't managed to live that down and her best friend, The Margarita, still teases her about it sometimes.

  • the pina colada

an extremely competitive person, The Pina Colada wants to win at everything and is constantly goading her cousin, The Mai Tai, into competing with her. she's melodramatic, but she doesn't actually take herself nearly as seriously as she pretends she does.

  • the sangria

lazy, sarcastic, witty, and, many suspect, not always completely sober. that coffee cup on The Sangria's desk may or may not be filled with actual coffee. she feels no need to hide what she thinks, but she also doesn't mince words and has no problem being blunt or downright verbally mean if it's how she feels. just ask The Chardonnay whom she insults on a regular basis, much to the amusement of her friend, The Mimosa.

she has Olympic medals and use to play sports professionally. no one knows why The Mojito went from the big time to coaching and teaching gym at the academy. she doesn't seem inclined to reveal the reason to anyone either, with the exception of The Merlot, whom she's having an affair with. her star athlete is The Lioness, whose become her protégée.
