OOC AND IC
keep both separate at all times! if you're caught in the act of blurring, mixing, or if you come to a mod to tattle on someone for being mean to your character then you will be removed. the only exception to complaints is when someone blurs, mixes ooc with ic, etc. complaining to the mods about a character being mean to your character will get you removed because clearly you do not understand the concept of character interaction. not all characters will be sweet, friendly, etc so you'll have to understand that you will run into a few jerks in the game. it's just the way the writer wanted their character to be, so do not take it personally!
AIM AND USERNAMES
both should be in-character style! journals must not have extra words, numbers, etc and screennames with numbers, extra letters, etc will not be allowed either. good examples for screennames and journal names include: ~brandon, ~xyz, and merry kristmas
ACTIVITY AND UPDATES
updates are due once every three weeks. threads, placeholders, and posting in sub-communities will not count as updating. you must update with something with substance or you will be removed for inactivity. extensions are not allowed in this community, so you must update on time, if you want to stay in the community. otherwise, you will be removed without warning.
STORYLINES AND GOD MODDING
storylines must be played out with maturity. pregnancies will last the full nine months and divorces will not happen over night. suicide is not allowed, murdering other characters is not allowed, and suicide attempts must be played out with realism and maturity. if you can't handle a storyline, a mod will step in, and you will be asked to discontinue the line. god modding is forbidden at all times and you will be removed if you're caught or reported.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
you must have both examples and a first entry available when you apply. you must also have a contact post that is screened as well. friends only/spam posts are completely optional. first entry types that are allowed include: detailed facts, a first entry, or a third person biograpy. surveys will not be allowed! examples must have at least two scene or threading examples and two journal entries or first entry examples.
all characters at this community are required to be either lower class, lower-middle class, or middle class citizens. no one will be allowed to portray characters from wealthy families or upper-middle class families. we apologize if this is an inconvenience for you, but we're trying to be realistic here, and not everyone comes from a rich family here in the united states.
REQUIREMENTS FOR FACTS
facts should be in biography style format. all facts should be at least the size of the rules you're reading or even a little bit bigger. facts like 'her favorite color is black', 'he likes to party', or 'she was born and raised in detroit' will not be accepted. if you submit facts such as that, then you will not be added.
CHALLENGING
challenging will not be allowed at this community. perhaps later on when we have more members, but for the first few sets of adds they will not be allowed.
