CORTANA Hosting X-Play is a tough job and Max couldn't possibly do it on his own. That's why he's got Vaughn Abrahms, to keep him grounded and to make sure his head doesn't explode. If Vaughn Abrahms was a boy, these two would have what one might call a bromance. Their jobs revolve around playing video games and getting paid to do so, that agenda attracts a certain type of person and if they weren't major gaming geeks they wouldn't A) get along and B) have their jobs in the first place. Their friends say that the two are a match made in heaven and it's a wonder they haven't gotten together and started having wild monkey sex, but when either thinks about shagging the other their spines shiver. Seriously, that'd be like doing your sister. Or brother. Nasty. They aren't best friends in a "tell me your feelings" sort of way, but rather best friends in a "I guess I could set up a blind date for you" and secretly laugh when it goes horridly wrong.

ARBITER
Bro, I love you bro. Let's find a pegasus and ride it into the future where we can be happy together, playing SNES and berating women for being so womeny. Really. Jay isn't just a friend, he's the friend. The friend who knows everything before anyone else, the friend who shares the future secret basement that Max'll have as soon as he starts building his new house. This is the guy that's not just there to say, "sure, that sweater looks nice on you," he's here to say: "That sweater looks nice on you. Now, go find Gap Girl and make sure she knows just how good you look in that sweater." It can be said that Max's life is full of bromances -- and it totally is -- but this bromance dominates all others. As Jac once said, "I don't care if Hallie and Scout say we cry too much. It just means our friendship is better than theirs. :')"

MIRANDA KEYES
His little bitty Halpal. Max was cursed with an older sister (who never lets him forget just who came out of their mother's vagina first). He never got to experience the fun parts of being protective over a sibling or genuinely caring about their well-being. That was until Hallie came along. Somehow her sunshine and happiness wiggled its way into his cold and unhappy heart and somehow brought a smile to his otherwise stony face that was in a perpetual frown.
