![]() Serena James Occupation: actress AIM & Journal: suck it serena & ~serena Age: 25 Birth date: December 12, 1984 City of residence: Malibu, CA Biography Born to a director of x-rated films and a woman that once starred in them, Serena never had quite the normal childhood. From the time she was small, she had lived a very luxurious life. Mansions, limos, dresses custom made? She had everything she could have wanted. And what her parents wanted was for her to follow in their footsteps - well - without the prospect of taking her clothes off. Serena was instantly taken to commercial auditions from the time she could walk, and had quite a few under her belt before she began auditioning for bigger roles in television and the movies. One of the first films she auditioned for was The Secret Garden, which was quite a dramatic role for a little girl. Plus, she had to work with a voice coach for weeks to prepare her slight English accent she had to dawn. Though there were doubts in the director's mind, she somehow made it work, and since that first picture, she quickly became one of the most recognizable child actors of that time. All seemed to be going well for Serena in the acting world, even when she had opted to take a four year break to attend school like a 'regular' girl, Hollywood was still quick to snatch her right back up whenever she put herself out there. But Serena wasn't the type to go out for every role that her agent suggested, she instead, decided to take risks, and though her father had only been a director in the adult film world, he often helped her choose the right scripts that would help her career along in the direction that she was interested in traveling down. Though she was heavily in the entertainment business from the time she was just nine years old, Serena's big break occured ten years later, when she earned the starring role in Lost in Translation. Suddenly, press was hounding her, and paparazzi were showing up outside her home at all times. Something about this set Serena off, and as quickly as she was put on the map, she fell off it. For about a year, she spent a lot of her time traveling, considering going to college, though she had never officially enrolled anywhere despite rumors of her attending college on the east coast. It wasn't until a year later that she finally re-appeared in Los Angeles, with a completely different look and a bit of a different attitude. With her fire-engine red hair, her bit of weight loss, and her flightly attitude with any press that was directed her way, rumors were quick to circulate that she had been going on a drug binge during her time off from movies. People speculated that during her disappearances that she was in rehab, and that every man she was seen with was either the guy she was fucking or her dealer. There was zero good press out there in the tabloids for Serena at that point, and truthfully, they were far from what was actually going on. At that point, Serena had decided to stay away from the public eye as much as she could because she wanted to take the time to explore her other interests, mainly her art, and most of all- she wanted to enjoy her youth while she was able to because a lot of her years were occupied with acting. So maybe she did party, dabble with drugs (though nothing too horrific), and drink more than she should have? She was just being your average twenty, twenty-one and twenty-two year old. After the rumors began to fade, so did Serena. It seemed as if no one was interested her any longer, which was just what she had wanted. She had fully considered never coming back to the acting world, but eventually, a few friends convinced her to at least try one more project as an adult before throwing in the towel. So as a shock to most of the public, she dyed her hair back blonde, and was back to the girl they thought they knew before, despite being a bit more wild and outspoken now that she was old enough to be. The first role she took on was The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, which recently had it's screening in New York, and you can bet that it won't be her last project. Credits "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"
