![]() Iason Matheau MIERS Played By: Robert Downey Jr. Birthdate & Age: Jan 5, 1964 & 45 Screen name: sugarfree iason Biography: The second of four children, Iason Miers grew up in a position of wealth and power. His family’s fame, however, shouldn’t be confused with a spoiled upbringing. Instead, Iason and his three siblings all had jobs the second they hit 15 and though he never had anything handed to him, he did spend his summers in Greece, France and The Hamptons and his winters in some of Boston’s most exclusive private schools. It was this contrast that shaped Iason into what he was to one day become. Childhood frugality turned into pompous high school years. By the time Iason got into college at Yale, he was a full blown yuppie asshole. Instantly recruited into the prestigious and secretive Skull & Bones, Iason had no problem trading on his good name as a Miers (the modern-day equivalent of a Kennedy). It was at Yale that he would meet Laura, his eventual wife. It was also at Yale that he would end up getting a job working at a PR firm. Really, it was just supposed to be a summer job. By his senior year, though, Iason realized he was in the wrong industry. Though it was too late to change his major, the wrong degree wasn’t enough to stop him. Instead, Iason flew out to L.A. the summer after graduating and walked into the doors of Creative Artists Agency. At first, the heads at CAA laughed at the boy from Boston with a B.S. in finance and little experience. Undeterred, Iason would show up every day for a week. By the end of the week, he had used his charm and wit to get himself into some of the hottest spots in Hollywood and befriend the pretty people that frequented said spots. Without even having a job, Iason had managed to land an “it” boy that had just left his agent. His guts alone impressed those that needed impressing, and by the end of his first year, Iason had worked himself out of a cubicle to a (albeit small and cramped) private office. From there, the only place he had to go was up. Iason proposed to and married Laura the next year, bringing her out to L.A. to live in a small apartment. By their 5th anniversary, Iason was driving a Porsche and Laura had her McMansion. When the agency went through a rough patch in 1995, it was Iason that would step into the void filled. Just over 30, Iason became one of the youngest partners in the industry. More importantly, he became one of the biggest names. Young and a bit of a golden boy with the public himself, the younger talent appreciated both Iason’s talent for making a nobody a somebody as well as his deep understanding of how the Hollywood world worked. Now, if there is a superstar in Hollywood, there is a high chance that Iason is the driving force behind them. In a world were careers can live and die within a matter of months, Iason has more than endured, he has become king. Credits: here Other stuff: here When Iason was thirty two, he was cut off in traffic and went after the guy's car with a golf club. He was arrested and sentenced 16 months for property damage, criminal menacing and attempted assult and battery. His conviction did not affect his career, surprisingly, though his violence as a whole hasn't been an isolated incident. When he was 22 he accidently shot off his brother Greg's middle finger. He's not all blood and guts, however, as he has an eight year old son named Sam with his soon to be ex-wife Laura. |
