your basics
1. Don't cross the IC/OOC line. This is a basic one, but a very relevant one as well. It's a big part of why games die, and we don't want to see it here.
2. No godmodding, powerplaying, the like. Anything that implies consent
requires consent.
3. Try to follow the Golden Rule here: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Meaning: don't harass another player, don't bring in OOC fuckery, and so on.
4. Passive-aggressiveness, which seems to be the big thing in rp these days, isn't acceptable. If we see you spamming or attacking another player for OOC or ridiculous reasons (such as dropping a storyline, etc.), then you will be warned. A warning for this kind of behavior counts as 2 strikes (see: disciplinary system below).
MODERATOR'S NOTE Right now, the general state of things in ~pbads and similar places is, needless to say, a little crazy. From anon complaint journals to troll spamming, there are some crazy things going on out there. We expect of all our players that
you do not bring this stuff into our game. A player who does something like spam ~pbads or make an anonymous complaint journal will be subject to removal without warning. Don't be a hater.
game requirements
1. This game requires a
30+-year-old played-by. This isn't a place for KStew or RPattz. It's a game for adults.
→1a. We will allow some leeway regarding a played-by's actual age. A PB in their 50s can be de-aged to, say, 32, but only if appropriate icons and images from that time are used. A PB who is 27-29 can be aged up to 30, but within reason. If you're not sure, dropbox the mods about it.
2. Journal usernames must contain a form of the character's name. ~megannn will be accepted; ~lolhotbabe will not.
3. AIM names should not contain Xx's and need a form of your character's name, although other words can be included. AIM names are not required.
4. After joining, an intro must be posted within 3 days, or you will be removed. It's our form of a post-adds activity check.
5. An update must be posted once every four weeks, or once every month. It's not that much to ask for.
→5a. What counts as an update? Anything, really, of substantial length, including but not limited to: a letter, a public journal entry, a private journal entry, or a third-person character narrative. A journal entry can consist of anything from a book review to a discussion of the social hierarchy in chimpanzee tribes, it just needs to be something detailed.
other notes
contacting the mods The best way to do so would be via our dropbox. Do not PM the mod journal. If you require a private, realtime discussion, contact us through the dropbox and we'll set up a time where we can talk on AIM or via email or Google chat.
the disciplinary system We like to think that we're very forgiving, but we have a three-strike policy here. If we receive three proven complaints about you, you will be removed immediately. All problems between players must be taken directly to the mods. Serious stupidity (such as making a complaint journal a la ~lbanon, without moderator permission) will result in immediate removal.
storylines You do not have to get permission from the mods to have dramatic storylines (including rape, pregnancy, etc.), but please just dropbox us to let us know it's happening. Realism is an absolute must--pregnancies run for nine months, chemotherapy makes your hair fall out, drug use has consequences. We will notify you if we believe you're not being thoroughly realistic with your storyline.
