Biography:
Samuel Jacob Hardison made that kid from the 'Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad day' look like he was having ice cream, while being handed one million dollars during a walk in the park on the sunniest, most beautiful, day of the year. This kid? He had it rough. From his mother passing away when he was six, to his alcoholic, abusive, father til the age of 13 when HE passed away leaving Sam an orphan who was shipped off to the United States to live with his Aunt and Uncle in a city/state that was known for being miserable. Without the unfortunate events of childhood and the things that continued to plague him through his teenage years ( such as heartbreak, puberty and that weird, sticky, mess called Leukemia ) he wouldn't be who he is today.. and that person is someone who seriously appreciates life for what it is and not for what it could do for him. When you hit rock bottom there's nowhere to go but up. And while most people have some form of sob story to look back on, he tries to focus on fixing the future to be better than his past and with what he has to work with? That's not too difficult of a feat.

Age seventeen was the first year that he came into contact with 'When We Dead Awaken'. It was a smaller show that kind of gave you that sort of close quarters thing with the band. He'd actually hung out afterward to see if he could talk to them ( even if, back then, it was in more of an admiring fan sort of way ) and he actually hit it off with the band members.. Mostly their front man Kyle Ransom. The group kept in touch with him over the years and they slowly, but surely, formed an unlikely friendship. He would catch their shows whenever they seemed to be in town and afterward he'd hang out and bullshit until they had to hit the road once again. Sam, always the musically inclined type, admired what they did and wished, more than anything, that one day he could be a part of something like that.

The terrible, horrible, no good very bad day scenario continued through the end of Sam's teenage years and by the time he was 19 he'd just about hit rock bottom. He needed something to pull him out of the slump that he'd found himself in and that something came in the form of 'When We Dead Awaken'. The opportunity of a lifetime seemed to knock on his front door after months and months of a deep depression. Kyle had come into contact with him when their bassist had left the band and he had jumped right into the spot to fill in the gap while the band recorded their 2007 record; Based on a True Story. Sam had caught on so quickly, and he got on so well with the band that they'd decided to keep him on board for their 2007 tour. He began doing promotion, meet and greets and has been a member of the band ever since.

That band was probably the best thing that could've ever happened to him and he counts his blessings every day when it comes down to being privileged enough to be a part of something so great.
