His father had infamously left his pregnant girlfriend to marry his mother (already pregnant with Thatcher) and proceeded to start a separate family. The Sullivan family has always been in the spotlight ever since as people seemed quite interested in seeing how the scandal would end and it just never got old with the tabloids. Thatcher grew up believing it was normal for people to be snapping pictures in his face and his parents did their best to guard him from thinking that they had done anything wrong in chosing to be together. After Thatcher came his younger brother Jeremy and then his baby sister Delaney. Although he was the oldest child Thatcher truly did not try to emmulate the role of father in thefamily as Scott Sullivan had that covered and did a most unpleasant job of it. All the Sullivan children were pushed into show business at a young age and warned strongly against (more like threatened with physical harm) doing anything that would put any more negative connotations with the family name. On the occasion that one did mess up and say the wrong thing in an interview or failed to be enthusiastic about their work they received a whole lot more than chewing out upon their return home. Thatcher took to being an ideal child in his father's eyes which meant vehemently denying any familial ties to his half-sister, and working non-stop in some capacity. He also (much to his regret) sided with his father in all family fights and confrontations even if he disagreed. In 2005 the Sullivans had yet another another bout of infamy but under sad circumstances. Jeremy committed suicide at age sixteen and little to no privacy was given to the family to grieve. Thatcher had already found his independence and moved out of the house at that point which only added to his guilt regarding the whole matter. He had always been particularly quiet and shy before but became much more withdrawn afterwards and a great deal more invovled in his little sister's life in an attempt to make up for his absence in his brother's. Soon there after Thatcher began writing music to actually put to use all the music lessons and instruments he had been forced to take and learn as a child. While his music was for the most part unknown people who did follow his work found that Thatcher had a very different persona when it came to singing and songwriting. He truly enjoyed it more than he ever enjoyed acting. Thatcher has been romantically linked to a variety of co-stars and other Hollywood starletts. Perhaps his best known relationship was with Poppy Taggart which was never actually confirmed by any source but he admittedly wrote several songs for her (some not very flattering but all conveying a romantic interest). Thatcher is currently experience a new height of fame since he won the role of Jasper Hale in the Twilight movies. It seems with this endevor his music has become much more known and people still remained baffled by how different his working personas are.
