Photobucket khiell The Wild Card: There is no rhyme, reason or lick of explanation to why Garret found himself attracted to Garbo's quirky style, appearance and overall person. Then again, Garret's never been all that conventional. The more and more they talked and exchanged music, the more and more Garret found himself drawn to her. It especially didn't make sense since as far as he knew, she was a lesbian and had been for many years. Things chanced dramtically when they had dinner and they've been in a relationship ever since. Garbo has quickly become one of the people whose opinion and advice he holds in high regard. He has become fiercely and intensely attached to her, something that frightens him a great deal, especially as he battles his own self doubts about being in a 'relationship'. He might act like his normal, nonchalant self when asked about his relationship with her, but he does admit to close friends that this is the first time in his life he thinks he might be 'in love'.

Photobucketeckharte The Asshole Buddy: Rhys Eckharte is an up and coming young actor that Garret seems to have taken a shine to. They trade off quotes daily and Rhys enjoys making Garret a little bit insane with his joking about stealing Garbo from under his nose, something Garret takes semi-seriously. Garret also has a connection to Rhys via his sister, Logan: Logan played Shosanna Dreyfuss in Inglourious Basterds. As he often does with people he likes, he has cast Rhys in his latest movie.

Photobucket lking The Asshole: Leo King decided to help one of his other musician friends that Garret called out on her bad behavior (and all but stole Garbo out from under her nose) trash Garret's house close to the priemere of Inglourious Basterds. Though King didn't punch Garret himself, and Garret freely admits that he gave the pair his home address, opened the door and refused to press charges, Jillian slapped a restraining order on King to keep him away from her brother, using the excuse that Garret's Mulholland Dr. home is 'Vulpis Enterprises property' and Garret is a member of the Vulpis Board, giving her a right to protect VE interests in both cases. It doesn't stop Leo from poking at Garret, who for the most part ignores King publiclly.

Photobucket pescariu The Pussycat Doll: Magdalene "Magda" Pescariu could very easily be one of Garret's 'muses', an actor he uses for creative inpsiration. In this case, it would be for the movie 'Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!', the first explotation film that Garret fell in love with when he was a kid. Tura Satana is a goddess, and Madge is as close to a reincarnation of her. She's also a gifted and talented writer, and a woman Garret considers very wise. He's often turned to her for dvice of all kinds andis working hard to collaberate with her professionally with 'Faster Pussycat' and 'Barbarella'.

Photobucket maclar Photobucket uentin Photobucket btrx Photobucket nolas The Dog Pound: Garret has known Hector MacLaran and Quentin Bailey since 1991, when they made a little film together called Reservoir Dogs. Mr. Orange, Mr. Blond and Mr. Brown have been friends ever since, keeping up with each others careers and lives. When Hector started dating fashion designer Beatrix Adler, she and best friend Nola Sloane were added to Garret's 'British Connection' of friends. During his most recent stint in London, he spent a lot more time getting to know Beatrix, even though it meant fighting off a little bit (A LOT) of Hector's paranoid delusions.

Photobucket open The Muse: Every director has one. He discovered her during the auditions for Pulp Fiction. The moment he saw her, he wanted her to play Mia, but the role went to someone else. Instead he wrote 'Kill Bill' specifically for her and refused to relent to have any other actress for it. They grew close during the shoot, close enough where many friends wondered if they weren't romantically involved. When Garret left directing after his father's death, it was her who encouraged him to return to writing and directing. They've always denied rumors of a romantic relationship, but even close friends don't really know if either are, aren't or ever were. For his part, Garret treats her like a sister.

Photobucketopen The Starting Point: {} had a different look which didn't seem to translate in the early 90s 'pretty boy' actor, but he had the chops. Garret picked him and gave him the role of Vincent Vega in his titular work Pulp Fiction. It put Garret on the map and helped launch {}'s stellar career. They've only been attached to one other film since (Sin City and soon to be 2 with the filming of the sequel), but that doesn't mean that Garret doesn't have the utmost respect and admiration for {} and his incredible acting skill.

Photobucket open The Other Half: This has been Garret's best friend of fifteen years. [] was introduced to Garret via a mutual friend back when they were in college. [] is one of the few people who Garret can bounce ideas off each other like the movie nerds they are. They work in completely different genres, but they share a love of the art of making movies that transcends their almost opposite styles. [] was one of the people who convinced Garret that he couldn't walk away from making movies after his father's death, and encouraged him to start writing again.

Photobucket open The Ex: Before Garbo, the last serious relationship Garret had was with her. A budding photographer at the time, they seemed to have the perfect Hollywood relationship. Garret's workaholic tendencies put a serious strain on them, and she ended up getting the attention she wanted by acting out, including sleeping with Kevin, one of the founders of Vixen Films. The relationship has been over for 10 years at this point, but Garret firmly blames himself for its demise.

Photobucket open The Never-Known Sibling: Garret's father, Nick, was a well known womanizer. He had dozens of affairs over his lifetime, and Garret knew many of his mistresses, some of them well. Around 1980 Nick met up with a woman who he would be with on and off for the next five years. Presumably unknown to anyone in the Fox family, this woman got pregnant and had a child. It is uncertain at this time if Nick or his wife Peggy were aware of the existence of this child. Now in his/her 20s and starting to make a name for themselves in the entertainment business, this person has recently discovered that they are related to Garret and plans on cashing in on the fame and notertity of the Fox name.

NPCs (these are people that Garret mentions frequently, but aren't played in ~rogerebert.
Photobucket The Faithful Sibling: Jillian is Gar's favorite person in the world. Too bad her job is to remind big brother that he's really NOT twenty any more. In all honestly, she'd rather he be running the company, not screwing around behind a camera, but she understands her brother well enough to know that he's doing what he loves and over all, everyone is better off that she's the one holding down the shop. Jillian is an accomplished businesswoman and takes her job as the President of Vulpis Enterprises very seriously. However she takes the press's fascination with her because of her brother very much tongue-in-cheek and not very seriously at all. She was an actress and model when she was younger, but after Nick Fox's death she has been 100% focused on the company she was groomed to run. Jillian has a tattoo of a compass rose on the back of her right shoulder; it is the identical tattoo that her older brother has on his left ankle.(currently NPC'ed PB Amanda Peet - if you wish to pick her up, please PM/Comment in the dropbox)

Photobucket Aunt Betty: Elizabeth Longfield (nee Fox) is Garret's 75-year old aunt and lives in the Santa Fe Ranch where Garret was born and where her father and brother (Garret's father, Nick) are buried. Betty is the closest thing to a mother-figure that Garret really has and who he turns to for advice. Widowed for the last five years, Betty has made her primary concern being there for her oldest niece and nephew, ready with plenty of Fox Family advice and reassurances that their father would have been proud of their respective accomplishments and work.

Photobucket Mother: Margaret Sergeant-Fox, more commonly known as Peggy, and her eldest son to not get along. At all. Peggy never makes a secret publicly that she wasn't particularly pleased to be a parent, or that she completely disapproves of her son's choice of profession. The youngest daughter of a socially active yet poor South Carolinian family, Peggy married Nick more to connect herself to newer New England money. She got the life style she wanted, but her continued fights and shunning her children made sure that her relationship with her children and husband were strained. At this point, Garret barely acknowledges he has a mother.

Photobucket Nick: Garret Nicholas Fox, Jr. was Garret's father. He died in a car accident in 1996 while Garret was filming Jackie Brown. Nick was the driving force behind his son's career. He was the one who first put a camera in Garret's hand, he encouraged his son's burgeoning hobby and gave him the push to start Vixen Films. Garret routinely states that one of the greatest moments of his life was that Nick was able to see his son's golden year of 1994-1995, when Pulp Fiction won at Cannes and Garret won the Oscar for Screenwriting. Garret makes a pilgrimage every year to the Santa Fe ranch where he and Nick were born, and where Nick is buried, on the anniversary of his death, June 14th.

Photobucket AYSF: Way back in 'the day', there were 4 nerdy kids in a homeroom at Boston Latin: Kevin Allen, Peter Yates and Bryan Silver. They were all avid movie buffs, and they forged not only a life-long friendship, but a business partnership by founding Vixen Films. When they started with Reservoir Dogs, Garret was director and screenwriter, Peter was director of photography and assistant (or as assistant as you got) director, Peter was in charge of lighting and editing and Bryan was the finance guy, along with chipping in with all the other roles. For the last 20 years, they have pretty much kept these positions, with Garret becoming the face of the company while Bryan, Kevin and Peter got to stay out of the limelight to do their jobs. (Not for lack of Garret repeating over and over that without them, Vixen doesn't get a damned thing done). They have stuck by each other through traveling the world (Garret drained his trust fund supporting them all when they quit NYU together), scrounging to produce their first two films, girlfriends, fiancees, marriages, divorces (Bryan twice), kids and all the other pitfalls that happen to friends. When Nick Fox died, it was Bryan, Kevin and Peter who insisted that Garret not sell them the company, on the off-chance he would want to come back...then proceeded to do everything in their power to make that happen. In 2001, they had their last initials tattooed as a sign of their lasting partnership. It was entirely a joke that Garret was the one who got it on his left ring finger.
