biography
Cameron Arwyn Trevelyan was never set out to be a musician, not according to parents Jasmine and Ian, at least. Cam was born on April 12th, 1986 in Cardiff, Wales, and after trying to conceive for years, the couple were ecstatic to finally have their baby. They were quickly making plans to send him to private school in a few years, alreading planning on making sure he was in all the gifted programs, and on top of that, they had to make sure he later got into med school. If they were going to only have one child then he just had to be perfect!

So, as per his parent's plans, Cam went to private school. He was the top student in all of his classes, just like his parents had hoped. He played guitar, had a bunch of friends and was generally well liked by everyone. His parents couldn't have been happier that their only child was turning out so perfectly. Cam eventually applied to Cardiff University, despite not being sure he wanted to attend post-secondary education. He finished three semesters before dropping out and moving to the states, settling down in Los Angeles.

After moving, Cam worked various retail jobs until he decided that his rent was too much for one person working retail and he got a roommate. The man, Jason, was a friend that he had made from work. He was in a similar situation, money wise, and thus the two decided to room together. Jason, a drummer, and Cam started the ritual of playing together every night before they retired to their respective rooms. It took almost a year of that constant playing before they finally decided to start their own band.

That was how "The Midnight Train" was born. The pair recruited some friends and co-workers and soon they had a full band, ready to write a few songs and shove them onto myspace. Writing the lyrics came naturally to Cam, writing always having been one of his natural gifts. He always passed them off to Jason to sing, not really minding that he didn't get to sing his own words. He hated being the center of attention all the time, anyway.

One night right before a little show at a bar, Jason lost his voice and Cam was forced to take over singing duties. On stage, Cam felt so alive singing his own lyrics.b After that night, Cam decided that he wanted to sing the rest and Jason left to form his own band, one that he cold be the lead singer for.

After that, "The Midnight Train" ended up somewhat breaking up. Cam pulled his best friend, Elijah Maddock, to Los Angeles and the pair ended up putting together a new version of "The Midnight Train". They scrapped all previous songs and demos and rewrote all of their music, promoting themselves primarily through purevolume and myspace. Shortly after the new music was up, the band started to get a fairly large internet following. With such a following, the band decided to produce an EP, recording it themselves on their laptops. A couple months after the EP's release, the band caught the attention of a major label. They signed to Warner Brothers and ended up returning to the studio months after their last EP to record their first LP. "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" came out the spring of 2008 to very positive reviews from all the major rock magazines and message boards.

Touring for almost a year and a half straight, "The Midnight Train" took a short break at the end of October with Cam marring Elijah in Spain. The guys stayed for a few weeks and then flew back to Los Angeles to do a number of local acoustic Christmas concerts with the rest of the band.

Starting January 25th, 2010 until mid-March, the band will be writing the new album and recording in Los Angeles, Cardiff and New York.

I'm in Eastern Standard Time. I'm online a lot, which means that random interactions and random scenes/IMs are lovely. I match what I'm given, in terms of thread or AIM scene length. I write in third person, storybook. I prefer threads, but AIM scenes are just as good if I'm going to be on for a long time. If you'd like a line with Cam and you're not sure how they'd have met, feel free to IM me OOC and I'll be more than happy to help you figure something out.
