BIOGRAPHY:
australian-born nathan dillon grew up in sydney, new south wales alongside his mother, lydia and younger sister as his dad, james unfortunately died in a car crash when nathan was nine years old. although nathan had been in the car when it had collided with another vehicle, it was his father's side that was hit the worst and nathan luckily escaped with just a few cuts and bruises which for the rest of his life would be something that he'd feel guilty about. after his father's death, he became fiercely defensive of his mom and sister, taking on the 'male' role in the household. about two years after his father died, he enrolled in a local youth drama group along with his younger sister as his father had always been a fan of performing arts and nathan had wanted to do something that he thought his father would like. despite this, nathan didn't begin acting professionally until 2001 after the casting directors from aussie soap opera "home and away" visited his drama group in the hopes of finding fresh talent. within months of that visit, nathan appeared on television screens across australia and the uk as seb miller, the son of a woman dying of leukaemia who eventually went to live with his grandfather who was principal of the local high school. his first storyline was a big one and fans remained at the edge of their seats waiting for the name of seb's grandfather to be revealed. after that the real fun began and nathan had many exciting storylines for a teenage boy including, seb losing his virginity, the infidelity of his first girlfriend, his infidelity with his girlfriend's sister and the horrific car accident which almost cost his character his life. nathan remained on the show until 2004 when his mother got re-married and decided to move to the US to be with her new husband. although just turned eighteen years old and an adult, nathan didn't want to lose his family and chose to quit home and away and join his mum, sister and step-dad, steven rosser in california. leaving australia was one of the most difficult things nathan had ever done as he knew there was a chance he'd never find fame again. however, luckily for nathan he had nothing to worry about as during his first pilot season in the US, he landed a role during his first week of auditioning and became bradin westerly in the short-lived "summerland". despite the show not lasting longer than its first season, nathan went onto greater things like playing frankie ballenbacher in "alpha dog" which some critics have stated was one of his best roles to date and now in 2009, although he isn't an a-lister, his career is starting blossom with him being one of hollywood's hottest young pin-ups. behind the scenes of his blossoming career, things haven't always been so simple as when he left australia he left behind his childhood sweetheart and former girlfriend, elizabeth varney but as they remained friends she'd taken a vacation to visit nathan and his family in california, unfortunately for both of them during that vacation, she fell pregnant not realizing until she'd returned home and made the tough decision to keep the baby and after that nathan was forced to make a difficult decision between his career and young son maxwell. nathan chose his career simply because it was the best way to provide a good life for his son and all he can hope is that there will be time in the future for him to get to know his son and that one day max will understand why he wasn't there while he was growing up.
