What a week. I had a job for a day, then it was gone. The one place that's hiring won't hire me until I'm eighteen, even though they would be willing to hire me, and my parents won't let me wait to apply again until May. I did babysitting two days in a row and am doing it again tonight. I'm probably going to end up either working at a pizza place or a starbucks inside a grocery store for the next two months if I can't find a better job. School has been pretty good, but I got dumped with three massive projects this week. I'm run down and badly need something good to happen to me. I need a stroke of luck. Really damn bad. </whine> Read a really good book, though. Emerald Hell. It's a Hellboy novel, and the author's more than decent. The story is convoluted creepy goodness, as it should be. It's set in the swamps and bayous of the south, and involves a fallen preacher and witches and evil plants that bleed men to death. My favorite kind of novel. XD It's relatively short, and only took me a couple hours to finish, but I really enjoyed it. And I did have alot of fun night before last. My friend Erin had a Brawl party, so about ten of us went to her house and ate pizza and played Brawl. I came in second about six matches in a row, so I got to stay in over and over. It was awesome. :D Sheik is still the fucking win! Some things do never change. I entered a poetry contest with a fairly cliched poem. It had to be short, so I wasn't able to flesh out my ideas at length like I like, but it's a cute li'l thing. I won't know if I placed or anything until sometime in early May. I also got a ton of music today, and I used my itunes gift card to by On The Drift, which I'm quite enjoying. So. Look on the bright side! |

I would like to begin my first post in my new journal by telling EVERYONE to go download THE BEST PODCAST EVER. It is called Cabin Fever, and involves two Irishmen talking about pop culture and giggling alot. I got mentioned on the show for writing them their first (and glowing) podcast review! Cabin Fever is here! GO GO GO GO GO. That aside. My theme is currently Serenity Rose (and yes, I'm pimping it as well--Serenity Rose. The first two issues are there. The other three you can read by buying the actually comic book, but the second volume is to be published as a web comic starting in two weeks! CONSIDER ME PUMPED.). Hence the icon and the sexy banner on my userinfo. It's the best comic I've read in a long time--love the writing and the art style, love the characters. Contessa Rubikov is my God. "Bollocks." I had a terrible Thursday last week, but this past long weekend involved lots of chilling, which I needed. I've been in a good mood all day.
