Black Friday, tramplings, car issues, Chibi/SD Iron Man and more! [28 Nov 2008|08:21pm] shinimegami [ mood | hot ] [ music | none ] Okay, so we all know people act like goddamn animals on Black Friday, and I'm sure 90% of you know how some clerk in a Wal Mart got trampled to death by the early morning stampede. If you're in the 10% that doesn't know, look it up for yourself. D: I'm not your own personal Google, betch. No, in all seriousness, I work in retail, but I'd rather put this stupid ass day behind me. One day a year I have a constant reminder of why I should throw out any hope for humanity and right now I'd rather forget it. In other news, my car sucks. We were driving back from the comic book store when Cameron and I heard a sound that was something like a gunshot. We thought one of my tires had popped, but all 4 of them are pretty much in tact. No idea what happened. It sounded like it came from my car so I have no idea what's going on. :| In any case, I need to get my friggin' oil changed at the very LEAST. I'll probably get on that tomorrow. casserole, I've started to gather things for your Christmas present. :D I'm going to look for a few more things and then I've got to find a way to pack it all up. :X I kind of had a little help from the Asian trinket store when I bought those gifts for Kitten. Also, Oreo Cakesters, Y/N? I bought some and I thought I'd leave a package of original and a package of chocolate creme in there too. However, IDK whether you like anything like that or not. Also, I found a Chibi/SD Iron Man at Bookery today. :D I apologize for my face, but this was the easiest way to show you guys. D: I look haggard thank to the temperature in here. Apparently they're doing construction on the 3rd floor of our building where my club meets, so it seems that the heat around here is more broken than usual. The doors were locked when we came up, so Cameron went and got the keys. I would really like to move to another building on campus, even if just for tonight, but since he doesn't feel like getting another key for the rooms in the building that I suggested we move to, I told him not to bother. However, I hope he doesn't expect me to stay on task during our meeting, because I'm feeling way to fuzzy due to the heat to be able to focus. Basically it's warm enough in here that all I want to do is lie down and fall asleep. Especially since I'm coming off of having to work a shift that required me to get up at 4:00 in the morning, and I pretty much haven't really slept since. :| It's too hot in here to think, so I'm going to go. Save the honoring for the submission posts. The concept of this community becomes pointless when everyone reveals who submitted the honors. 5. DO NOT SUBMIT HONORS ABOUT YOURSELF. Nobody would know (some of us could probably guess), but you'd feel pretty lousy if you needed to make yourself an honor to boost your self-esteem. If we find out you've made an honor for yourself, or if it looks like it was made for yourself, we will delete it immediately. 6. Do not submit honors that contain nudity of a minor, nudity of minors can be considered Child Pornography. In this case, a minor is anyone under 18. 7. I've been busy! [27 Nov 2008|09:26am] cherrypie Friday, November 28, 2008, marks the date for the Art in Action silent art auction and party to benefit Lamba Legal in their work to overturn Prop 8. The event takes places this Friday at Aubergine’s at 755 Petaluma Avenue, Sebastopol, CA, from 6:00 pm – 1:00 am. The Art in Action auction will be an exciting evening of art, food, music, and fine wine. Art in Action features modestly priced original works of art and other items, (such as stays at local inns and hotels, theater and museum tickets, and bottles of wine, that are sold during a silent auction) donated by local artists and businesses. It’s a wonderful way to have a good time, support Lamba Legal (and in turn, the careers of emerging/upcoming/whatever artists), and go home with an original work of art. Dozens of artists from Sonoma County have donated original works of art especially for Art in Action, including me! Items donated by local businesses will be auctioned off by raffle by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. In addition, live music will be performed by the Love Choir, Bret Martin, and The B Good Joes; the evening ends with the sounds of DJ Debaster. Delicious food and wine will be served, and tickets can be purchased on a sliding scale for $15-$25. tell your friends! post comment
