COMMUNITY • this past summer on insanejournal two fabulous played-by communities surfaced,
summershare and
unihigh. sadly, both communities are no longer active which brings us to the creation of

whs. since we could never fill the shoes of the past two communities and their moderator(s), we decided to move the game to a new location. west high school is located in salt lake city, utah. all previous members are welcomed to bring back their old characters. if you would like to keep your face, name, personality, background, etc you are more than welcome too. however, if you'd like to switch things up you can go right ahead! this community will be mainly focusing on the soon-to-be graduating class of 2009 and their fun filled senior year, as well as the class of 2010 who can't wait for the seniors to leave so they can take on full reign.
PLAY BYS • since this will be the senior class of west high school, we want to put it out there that when it comes down to picking a face, they must be able to pass for the ages of sixteen to nineteen years old, since that is the typical age range for a junior/senior. we're sorry, but chances are brad pitt and britney spears just won't cut it.
APPLYING • to apply, you will need either a biography of at least three paragraphs and/or twelve well-developed facts about your character. both must give the reader a detailed view of your character's life such as their history and personality. you may also throw in some tidbits that make your character interesting/unique, those are always fun to read! also, you'll need a friends only post that contains a link back to this journal and your screenname visible. AIM is the means of online communication within this community, everyone must have a screenname and use it. your journal name and aim screenname must have something to do with your character's name, no exceptions.
UPDATING • our update limit is every three weeks. each update must be substantial, do not throw some bullshit entry together. we feel that three weeks is fair enough and if you can't abide to that, then this community is possibly not for you. finally, all updates must be written by you!
ACTIVITY • a community is only as active as its members! in order to keep this place up and going, all of you have to do your part. using the sub-communities, updating, going on AIM, commenting, and joining chats will help keep this place from dying. we're all here for the same reason, to roleplay. try not to leave anyone out and welcome new members. we don't want this place to turn into one huge clique-fest and surely you don't either. also we want to bring this to everyone’s attention. if you update every three weeks, but are not active online or in sub-communities, you are susceptible for removal. no one likes a role hog that just updates to be eliminated from removals, that isn't the point of the game and we're going to make sure this isn't over looked.
STORYLINES • we all know that storylines are the bread and butter of roleplaying. they are what makes the role and community fun. we are not limiting your creativity, we just hope you use your noggin when it comes to 'mature/dark' storylines. please play all serious lines with respect and if you need to, brush up on the facts of the subject. keep in mind not everyone has a deceased family member, bad history, or has been abused. not that this doesn't happen in the real world, we just want to make sure that 9 out of 10 members in this community are all not in the same boat for said storylines. if your character happens to be pregnant, you must play out the storyline for the full pregnancy. marriage at this age is not common, so if you want to do so please let a mod know first and we can further discuss. engagement is fine, let's just not get "engaged and underage" happy. if you feel you might be stepping on any toes or not sure if you should or shouldn't do a line, contact a mod! we'll definitely help you out.
IC VERSUS OOC • let's all be mature, young adults and refresh the ic and ooc guidelines. since we will be having a gossip/rumor journal, we want to make sure you are all aware that your character's name may or may not be mentioned and it may not be always in a good way. once

grapevine is set up, all comments will be screened and only visible to the moderators. if we feel someone is remotely 'burning' someone out of ooc spite, we will make sure to take actions into our own hands. this is suppose to be like high school people, students talk shit it's a well known fact. maybe not all of them, but a majority. we just want to make it clear that if we catch you crossing the line, you will be removed. no questions asked.
