Hellllllooooo December! [05 Dec 2008|09:58am] news I don't know about you all, but these months are FLYING by, it's ridiculous! I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving, and for those of you that don't celebrate it, I hope you had a lovely November! Not to much happened on the developement side of Scribbld this month, but our systems administrator/developer (morgan) is feeling a whole lot better. She would like to thank everyone who sent her well wishes! It's much appreciated!! That said, we're going to attempt to work on a few new features mentioned in scribbldsuggest. Not sure which one's we'll be tackling right away, but we'll figure something out! We're also in the process of hooking up with a decent ad network, which we like and hope you will too, we definitely WILL NOT be putting ads on journals, but we'll keep them on the main site instead. Also, calling ALL web designers and developers, we're looking for more site schemes! We're giving away paid and maybe even permanent accounts for site designs! [Valesco] Comprehensive Available Canon Characters List (or at least my attempt at one) [15 Nov 2008|06:33am] vanya_elda [ mood | fucking exhausted ] *eyes cross* Okay, so I'm nearly 3 hours into making this post and suddenly realizing that I must be some sort of masochist to want to do this. ANYWAY. Everyone had gone to bed and I was bored. While thinking on what other characters I could possibly pick up, I got this CRAZY idea to head over to the HP Lexicon's list of Wizarding Folk and figure out who isn't in-game as of yet. The real available characters list is right here and this is no way an attempt on my part to step on toes--it's just a combination of my idle mind and my obsessive personality that dictates I must be comprehensively persistent about things. Of course, the list ended up being a bajillion times bigger than I thought it would be. It's entirely possible I've shuffled some of these characters into the wrong columns or included characters that shouldn't be included. Honestly, there are how many characters in-game (200+) and how many characters in canon (eleventy thousand?) so there are going to be mistakes. NO NEED FOR HISSY FITS AND PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE COMMENTS. If someone needs to be slashed or moved, just let me know. And again--THIS IS BY NO MEANS ANY KIND OF "OFFICIAL" AVAILABLE CHARACTER LIST FOR VALESCO. For starters, I didn't include the original characters on the OFFICIAL available character list or the filler parents that make up the current Hogwarts list since I imagine those are allowed a little wiggling. This is just my attempt at a canon list of people and no more. ANYWAY. I HAVE PRATTLED ON WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS. IT'S REALLY NOTHING SPECTACULAR. It's just a list. Have a look at it or don't. I started to feel a little better this last weekend, but woke up feeling like crap again yesterday. I don't if it's the flu, sinusitus, ear infection, or just ridiculous hay fever. But I do know that all feel like doing is staring blankly at a TV screen and guzzling hot tea with honey and dumping vitamin C down my throat. ( Game-by-Game notes to mods/players ) Phew. Glad to get that out of the way. Between this post and going to vote, I actually feel productive for the day. Sorry if I forgot anything. Feel free to poke at me on AIM. My away message will probably be up 24/7 but I am usually around. Additionally, since I know I will probably be doing a lot of laying around and catching up on shows this week, I have re-opened the request post at textless so I'm not JUST laying here. Happy November! [01 Nov 2008|01:17pm] news Hey kids! October has come to an end, it feels like I was just posting news for August and here it is, November already! First a bit of news about one of the system admins, morgan. Last week she was in a car accident, she hit a deer. Fortunately she's okay, but her car is complete toast :( That said, our backend development is going to slow down as she's only got one useable hand to type with (she broke her wrist). I personally wish her the quickest recovery and hope all goes well. She'll be taking a break from Scribbld coding for the next month or so. In other news, we had almost 100% uptime last month, there was about 15 minutes of downtime due to a small power outage. This month we're going to be running some software updates on our database server, but we'll post a date and time when we get closer to doing so. We hope you're all enjoying using Scribbld and we want to thank anyone who refers their friends, family, co-workers to our little spot on the Internet! It's very much appreciated.
