Overwhelmed with the Ordinary

I felt so darned lazy today. And I lazed around. I didn't fire up the work puter since I knew a new one was on its way. Watched House and Bones. Somewhere around 11am I got in the shower. Tackled some work emails; showed my coworker Laura a scene from Survival - intense!Starsky and the hooker Carla. We shivered together. Dangerous man!

Saw a pic of Hutch that Marion acquired. *shivers*

The work computer showed up minutes before I left to get Jayne early from school for her sealants appt. Jayne wanted to see the Opinion she wrote actually on the principal's wall, so I took her to the office. Mrs. M. took it off the wall and HAD JAYNE SIGN IT. I'm dying laughing, and Mrs. Ma, likely Jayne's teacher next year (she's had Katie and Karl for three years combined already) got to see it, too.

Dental appt - we were a little early and they were ahead of schedule for once, so Jayne got in early, too. I happily sat and read on Glinda for a bit.

Home was frustrating, though. I set up the work computer and went out to the desktop to set the SSID to broadcasting so the new puter could see the router. I think the last time we did this was for [info]amberleewriter last summer, but I remembered where to go. Turned it on, the puter connected but suddenly we had NO NET ACCESS on ANY puter.

None.

I tried resetting the router a few times, but no go. Mad, and frustrated, I called my coworker LB to send out an email that until Roy got home and could poke around, I was offline. This is not good when you WORK ONLINE.

Hung up with her, went by my laptop and HOLY COW I was connected to the net. Why, or how, I haven't a clue, but I jumpd right on my IM to tell LB not to send out that email.

VPN for work works, email connected, yay! Still a ThinkPad, a little bigger than my old one, and right now FLIES, it's so nice. This is my third laptop from work and so far, the best.

HOWEVER, Yahoogroups is being very difficult. Can't reply from my email without it having a delivery failure. I was able to post directly to the list.

I've had quite enough of computer difficulties this week. Enough already!

It was POURING this morning, but very warm. Our high for the day was at midnight, lol. Gray and warm and made for laziness. The sun came out later.

It's ELECTION DAY. Our polls have just over half an hour left. Or rather, the ballot drop boxes, since we dont' really have polls anymore. I think one can still go down to an office and vote there if one wishes. Fill it in with a pencil, fold it up. It's like a little test!

We have Desperate Housewives to watch and a ton of laundry to fold, plus I still need to do my required posts for work, which I would have done sooner but...yanno...no net access. I like doing them in the evenings usually, but I'm tired and tend to start to drop off...while typing. That's pretty bad. Pretty bad.

I have more letters to write. I wonder if they'll get written tonight.

And then, of course, I had this crazy AU plot bunny for S&H. And I found a partially written story that I'd nearly forgotten about. Gah. I need to have all other responsibilities taken away from me so I could just hash out plots and discuss art and make vids and write stories. Don't you think?
