Grandpa is doing much, much better now, thank god. Word I get second-hand is that the medications were given as such that they, in effect, overdosed him somewhat and that was dragging him down. Once that was identifed and corrected, he came back, essentially.

My baby uncle says he's talking now and all, and that they expect to keep him through the weekend and then probably in a care facility for a week or two for some rehab. He can't walk at all and will need assistance. I am hoping that in the plan is a home health care aide, for my grandmother can't continue this, she's worn out.

So no mad rush for 350 miles is necessary, it appears. My uncle and cousin drove down from here to them today, and baby uncle gave me the hospital phone and room number, so I'll call in a little while.

Two sessions of KARL DAY have happened; one more to go. We lost our baseball game, but another player on Karl's team had his birthday today, and they ALSO brought chocolate cupcakes, so after the game, we had a big Happy Birthday song for them both and kids dove into cupcakes! We were even able to give some to the other team, as well, since we had so many, lol.

Bowling was great; Eli wasn't there but we weren't sure if he would be or not, so we put his name in the screen. They only charged us for five kids, though, and the kids took turns "Bowling for Eli". At one point, he won his lane, lol.

Now we're home and I've caught up on Caring.com work that I do on Saturdays. Next up - call ahead for seating for dinner tonight, and then dinner tonight. And I need to wrap his CD boombox...
