Drove forty miles to a car dealership that seemed to have THE CAR.
Only it wasn't.
Dummies said the car had ABS and traction control in the ad; the car itself did NOT.
So then we trekked up 99E towards that very first Grand Prix I sat in that turned me on to them, and watched all the car lots on the way, stopping at several.
Grar. While they *do* exist, it is a rare model that has ABS but is not a supercharger nor has the 17" wheels. Roy does not like the extra cost of the 17" tires, nor that they don't cushion from rough road as well as the 16" ones do.
So the next step is to call the one dealership that has a flock of Grand Prixs, and ask them if it is POSSIBLE and what would it ENTAIL to take the wheels from Car B and put them on Car A, when Car A is exactly what we want (barring having a moonroof, which we can do aftermarket.) The deal with the wheels is that the sensors for the ABS need to still be connected, and we don't know if the 16" will do that for sure or not.
So, we'll ask.
I'm burned out and grar. I'm sick of car shopping.
Still, even with being gone most of the day, I managed to eat correctly, even though I didn't have my books with me. I chose to use three of my "extra" points to have a dessert. I'm feeling good right now. This has been a good week.
My sister texted me while we were out, asking if Mom had called me about the dog. Um, no, but if that was the message, shit, NOW WHAT?
Turns out Reba got into some slug bait and was super sick. Mom took her to the 24/7 vet many miles away and in the end, they're keeping her at least overnight while they IV her up and they pumped her stomach and she should be fine.
But gahhh...if they'd had to put her down, or she'd died, I think my sister and I would have had to put her in the looney bin.
Remember, just this past fall, before we got our three kitties, Mom went through:
1) Foster dog and Hope, her three-legged dog, both attacked Dee, one of two cats. Hope has never been aggressive to Dee EVER, but when the boy foster jumped her, we believe Hope went into pack mode and helped. Killed the cat, tore up my mother and her friend who were trying so very hard to separate them all.
2) Mom sends the foster dog and Hope away with same friend, as she's too heartsick to even look at Hope.
3) Hope runs away and we have never found her, although we keep hearing on Craig's list how someone thought they saw her, but we've never, ever located her.
4) Just a couple of weeks ago, Reba caught and injured a mouse that had been rousted out from under the house while contractors are redoing Mom's bathroom. But she doesn't kill it and it's paralyzed in the back. Mom can't DEAL with the pain and suffering again. I had been on the phone with her when the incident happened and she called me back SOBBING. She's such a soft touch with animals and gahh...this was horrible. Finally a neighbor helped her kill the mouse to put it out of its suffering.
5) And now Reba today. Thank goodness she should be all right.
Light a candle, huh? The universe could leave her alone for awhile now...
Am heartsick that
Got to Ariel's death and funeral in In the Absence of Angels. Roy was trying to talk to me and I had to tell him I needed a minute. Ariel was Jayne's age...a few months younger than right now...and I can't even IMAGINE. Her descriptions of Paul throughout are just as heartbreaking.
I could go to bed now. I'm so tired.
