Overwhelmed with the Ordinary

Current Mood: busy

Thanks to those who saw my last post - honestly, I have to follow the lead of folks who identify transgender/transvestite on what the difference is between the two, because I constantly get them wrong. Silverton is this little town in rural Oregon where I honestly would have thought folks would have a serious problem with Stu - but I like being proven wrong like that.

Got a blank-walled room? This fella transformed his room with $10 worth of Sharpie and Magic Marker. Look at that. It's SO cool. Even R2-D2 makes an appearance!

I'm doing the dash and run between getting kids to school and the toilet. I think maybe Domino's wasn't such a good idea last night...urgh...

John Barrowman singing my favorite Christmas carol, O Holy Night? PRICELESS.

And then there are these two images from Grant Park Tuesda night - one is a set of images, really, and then one is a LOL cat style that still means so much. Read more... )

Heading out to see Zack and Miri Make a Porno tonight. I cut and set TWO count 'em TWO clips on my vidding timeline. Lots of worky work done.

I traded my weekend coverage for next weekend to this weekend, because next weekend - I"M ON VACATION FOR A WHOLE WEEK!!!! nine days of no Job #1. I'll still have to do Job #2, but that's simple enough.

WHEE VACATION. Just have to get through the next week. YAY!

Journalists are bad at math. @ 10:37 pm

Current Mood: amused

Roy just caught yet another bad math example in the Oregonian. Seven figures, all miscalculated.

For example: Greenbriar companies Inc. - "down 57.7%, declined 8.25 to close at 19.51 on 10/31/08."

Umm, that's actually a decline from $27.76 to 19.51, which is a 29.7% decline.

He did this wrong math on all seven companies he referenced.

However, the story was about the Oregon index, which includes all public companies in the state of Oregon - which declined 20%, and THAT one, he did correctly.

Yeahhhh....yanno, I bet if he poked around the big ol' Oregonian offices, he'd find an accountant or two that could push the pretty buttons on that calculator thingy...

Zack and Miri Make a Porno!!! First, I had to laugh - the poster just inside the theater doors had teh "make a porno" part blocked out with a folded piece of paper taped on to it. The older gentleman - he was so nice - laughed and said "they made us do that." Heh.

MOVIE WAS HYSTERICALLY FUNNY. OMG JUSTIN LOOOOONG!! And BRANDON ROUCH!!! Holy cow.

TRACI LORDS. ROFL

AND if you go see this, be SURE SURE SURE you stay through the credits to see more of JUSTIN AND BRANDON.

And with all the Star Wars references that Kevin Smith films are famous for - the freaking SOUND was done at SKYWALKER STUDIOS. OMG. :dies:

and that was quite the shot of Jason Mewes.
