[27 Nov 2008|09:26am] |

Friday, November 28, 2008, marks the date for the Art in Action silent art auction and party to benefit Lamba Legal in their work to overturn Prop 8. The event takes places this Friday at Aubergine’s at 755 Petaluma Avenue, Sebastopol, CA, from 6:00 pm – 1:00 am.
The Art in Action auction will be an exciting evening of art, food, music, and fine wine. Art in Action features modestly priced original works of art and other items, (such as stays at local inns and hotels, theater and museum tickets, and bottles of wine, that are sold during a silent auction) donated by local artists and businesses. It’s a wonderful way to have a good time, support Lamba Legal (and in turn, the careers of emerging/upcoming/whatever artists), and go home with an original work of art.
Dozens of artists from Sonoma County have donated original works of art especially for Art in Action, including me! Items donated by local businesses will be auctioned off by raffle by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. In addition, live music will be performed by the Love Choir, Bret Martin, and The B Good Joes; the evening ends with the sounds of DJ Debaster.
Delicious food and wine will be served, and tickets can be purchased on a sliding scale for $15-$25.

SO, I came home tonight and babe had gotten me a Christmas tree and set it up for me while I was out.

I've been wanting a Christmas tree since September, it's really been my only pregnancy craving. : )
But, UNDER THE TREE...
( cut for added suspense... )

"i believe everything happens for a reason. people change so that you can learn to let go. things go wrong so that you can appreciate them when they are right. you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together." ~marilyn monroe.

So.
- My laptop broke. - Kevin knocked Kassie up, and she's keeping it. His mom is not speaking to him. I don't blame her. - She's been drunk three times since she got pregnant. Fetal alcohol syndrome? - He and I had been in talks of reconciliation and fixing things, and him breaking up with her because he told me he still believed that someday we'd be married. Guess not. - When he kicked me out, I ended up staying with a friend of my friend Janelle, who I now lease an apartment with. I shared her 3 bedroom apartment with the friend, Ryan, Mikey, Dave, and Tyler. Crazy, right? I shared a room with Ryan and Mikey, who I became super close with. - The day I met Ryan, he found out he was going back overseas. He's a Marine. He was to be gone for 14 months. - 14 months turned into 4 days. I was at the mall yesterday after class and got a call from him. I looked at my phone. It said his name, and I picked up and immediately asked where he was that his cell phone was functional?! He said "in Muskegon." And I asked why, so he said because he got sent home because he got hurt. I asked what happened, and he told me not to worry. I tried to press it out of him, but he said it couldn't be that bad because he was talking to me, and that he'd see me in about 10 minutes at my apartment. I called Janelle immediately and asked her if she knew, and she tells me, "Ryan got shot in the stomach and the neck." I almost cried, but she told me to calm down because he's fine. So I booked it to my car and met him at my apartment. We hung out for a bit, then he went to Battle Creek to go to the hospital there to get some shots and get looked over to make sure nothing's infected. Then he came over late last night, and he spent the night. I only got like 2 hours of sleep, but I don't care. He felt guilty for keeping me up (he kept tossing and turning, unable to get comfortable), but a day with no sleep is nothing compared to what he's been through... so if me staying up and talking half the night away made him feel any better, it was so worth it. - Also, he kissed me. I don't know what to think or feel. I still love Kevin so much, but I know I have to let go.
I'll have more at some point.
This entry is in sort of an annoying format.

Hey girls!
I just wanted to leave a quick update here to let you know I'm alive, and still knocked up! 33 days to go and counting! WOOOOO! heehee
Any who, I've got a whole mess of pictures from Halloween, and our latest baby shower. I'm WAY too lazy to write an entry about it so we'll just have to let the pictures do the talking. Yes? yes.

I thought it might be fun if I had everybody make dolls of themselves... then I would make an entry and link all my friends' journals from the dolls they made.
Make one and post it as a comment if you want to be added!

It was SO cold today!!!!
I got blown away by the wind a few times. It was rough. Classes were ok. Other than it being yucky outside.
I took a long nap and then woke up with a headache. I went over to Lauren's and we ordered chinese food, played poker and watched jeopardy. I caught the long bus back which sucked.
I hadnt talked to Chris all day which was rough. I found out that the wind had been knocking his power out all day so he couldnt get on the computer. He called me finally late. I was so happy to talk to him though.
Hes coming down to see me tomororw! We have a sneak peek of Role Models. I dont think we are going to watch it though. I have to work anyway so I would miss like a half hour of it because of closing. We decided to just skip it and spend time together.
Then I get to see him Friday!! Hes almost positive that he is going to be able to come down for the Halloween Party. Im sooo excited to go out with Kevin, Lauren and Chris. It will be so much like old times when Kev and Laur were together.
Bah. I cant fall asleep and I have earlllly class tomorrow. Hope you guys are doing well.

1. It begins with a list of all 26 letters of the alphabet. 2. Comment with something for me to talk about in a journal entry that starts with one of those letters. 3. One topic per letter -- it's like a claims list. I will add topics to the letters as they appear. 4. You can comment multiple times, but only if the letter you chose hasn't already been taken. 5. I will post a new entry talking about all topics given to me.
( ABC's please!!! )

Thirteen years to the day after he was acquitted of killing his wife and her friend, O.J. Simpson is finally paying for one of his crimes. Yes, I know this isn’t take two of the Nicole Brown Simpson/ Ron Goldman trial, but you can’t help but feel a wave of relief that he’s finally going to be pay for one of his crimes and that – albeit delayed – justice has finally been served. I know there’s been a lot of talk about fairness, about the jury selection (nine women, three men; all white), but I feel so proud of our country's justice system right now. I just can’t wait for sentencing on Dec. 5. Here’s hoping he never sees the free world again. It’s stunning that someone who literally got away with murder would be so cocky and so arrogant as to risk going to jail by attempting to rob someone at gun point. That murder trial was such a hellish time in this city - and country - and I'm just so happy to see him having to face the repercussions of his actions.
