SHOOT ME NOW. A whole week of my extended family and ridiculous conversations like this. AUGH. Later in the car ride he said something about "The Blacks" and chicken with waffles, but I wasn't really listening. I was IMing people from my phone by then to be distracted from whatever Dad was saying. I didn't feel like getting irate tonight.

[Valesco] Comprehensive Available Canon Characters List (or at least my attempt at one)

*eyes cross* Okay, so I'm nearly 3 hours into making this post and suddenly realizing that I must be some sort of masochist to want to do this. ANYWAY. Everyone had gone to bed and I was bored. While thinking on what other characters I could possibly pick up, I got this CRAZY idea to head over to the HP Lexicon's list of Wizarding Folk and figure out who isn't in-game as of yet. The real available characters list is right here and this is no way an attempt on my part to step on toes--it's just a combination of my idle mind and my obsessive personality that dictates I must be comprehensively persistent about things. Of course, the list ended up being a bajillion times bigger than I thought it would be. It's entirely possible I've shuffled some of these characters into the wrong columns or included characters that shouldn't be included. Honestly, there are how many characters in-game (200+) and how many characters in canon (eleventy thousand?) so there are going to be mistakes. NO NEED FOR HISSY FITS AND PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE COMMENTS. If someone needs to be slashed or moved, just let me know. And again--THIS IS BY NO MEANS ANY KIND OF "OFFICIAL" AVAILABLE CHARACTER LIST FOR VALESCO. For starters, I didn't include the original characters on the OFFICIAL available character list or the filler parents that make up the current Hogwarts list since I imagine those are allowed a little wiggling. This is just my attempt at a canon list of people and no more.

ANYWAY. I HAVE PRATTLED ON WAY TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS. IT'S REALLY NOTHING SPECTACULAR. It's just a list. Have a look at it or don't. I really don't care. If you want to learn more about a character on this list, you can do so by looking them up at the Lexicon.

I was pretty mum last week due to my own feelings of BLAH and being high on pseudoephedrine. I started to feel a little better this last weekend, but woke up feeling like crap again yesterday. I don't if it's the flu, sinusitus, ear infection, or just ridiculous hay fever. But I do know that all feel like doing is staring blankly at a TV screen and guzzling hot tea with honey and dumping vitamin C down my throat.

Game-by-Game Notes

Boom Town: DUDES. YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LIKE ZOMBIES. A Resident Evil game was one of my first message board RPGs. SO. THIS BLOWS. But Rhett, at least, would definitely hook back up with The Sentry for zombie huntin' fun times. I never really decided who I would make a zombie so...I'LL DO IT NOW: Eddie and Simone are zombies; Rhett, Jean-Luc, Jesslynn, and Bobby are not bitten and heroing; Perry's locked himself in a panic room; Bobby and Jess are likely to end up bitten by week's end.

Also--Steph and anyone else who is looking to pick up one of my wanted characters (Rhett's angsty son, Bobby's rich bastard roommate, or Jesslynn's cop partner/future husband) can totally hit me up on AIM at gracelessally to discuss. :]

Mutant Haven: WELL. SAM HAD A GOOD START AT LEAST. ;[

Nat: I got your e-mail. I'm game for a Guthrie log/thread. If you're able to tolerate me being RIDICULOUSLY slow we start a gDoc or thread now. Otherwise, maybe sometime this coming weekend? I certainly HOPE I'm feeling better by then.

Other pplz who have asked about logs with Sam (Bonnie, Lis, and anyone else I'm forgetting): Same as above. Sam is pretty much the easiest character ever for me so that's why I think I MIGHT be able to do something with him even with me being all brain dead. I can't make any promises though.

As far as Sam's current status goes: I'm sure he knows about Jay trying to give him the slip by now and is probably pretty steamed about it. I also would not be surprised if knew the majority (if not all) of the hotel residents by now. And he's probably went Older Brother on at least half of them. I'm looking forward to the moment he chills out enough to have fun because he's not a complete stick-in-the-mud and has a lot of time to make up for his lost carefree teenage years. But if there is ever any sort of crisis he will, of course, step up to face it. That's just how he rolls. He's also ridiculously excited for Australia. The movie. Yes, he does love tragic romances. Shut. Up.

Pride View: Okay. I'm starting to feel really bad here. I absolutely love my characters but I haven't been able to post in such a long time that it's not really fair to the rest of the players who I have plot with or those who are active that wish to play one my characters. So, I figure I have two options. 1) Drop the game entirely or 2) Cut my roster down to 1-3 characters so my list is less daunting. Thoughts? Are any specific characters you want me to keep around? I'm really sorry for flaking out so badly. :[

Valesco: I've been very wishy-washy for the past month, but I think y'all know that I'm doing my best to slide back into the game. I'm at least talking and paying attention in chats again so I think that's a good start. Basically what I have doing is keeping up with the journal-ing and making sure my characters respond to everything that they would respond to. Unfortunately, not all of my characters have had something twixt their fancy lately which of course is totally my fault for not having plot for them but I would like to change that. I gave paragraph blurbs for all of my characters in the mod OOC post about activity nudging if you would like to see my thoughts on each of my characters. I am, of course, up for ANY plotting and you can hit me up on AIM at gracelessally.

Phew. Glad to get that out of the way. Between this post and going to vote, I actually feel productive for the day. Sorry if I forgot anything. Feel free to poke at me on AIM. My away message will probably be up 24/7 but I am usually around.

Additionally, since I know I will probably be doing a lot of laying around and catching up on shows this week, I have re-opened the request post at textless so I'm not JUST laying here.

I've also been pinged a lot in the last week or so with re-upload requests on dead links. I'm not ignoring/forgetting you. It takes a while to get anything uploaded here because our connection generally sucks. But I WILL get to them at some point--likely in the next couple of days.

I get my lappy back tomorrow! YAY faster CPU and better screen! But boo for my dad being off for the next six weeks. I predict that one of us will kill the other by Thanksgiving. Ha.

Brady had sent the owl to Dan and gone about his after-work routine with the assumption that an owl of reply would return citing a later time that evening when Dan could be expected. There was no question if Dan was coming, not after the younger man had so ravenously panted and pawed as he creamed in Brady's hands barely a week prior. It was a question of when. Brady had assumed he'd have at least another couple hours to make himself presentable. In actuality, Brady barely had time to see off his son with the sitter and loosen his tie before his flat's chimes were ringing again indicating a knock on the door.

Raising a curious brow, Brady picked up his wand from the coffee table and gave it a flick. His shoes and court robes soared off to their place in his closet. He approached the door and made a swish in the air to drop the wards; the door popped open with an obedient creak. Brady's face settled into a knowing smirk when an eager Dan was revealed. The younger man was across the threshold before Brady could invite him in.

The kiss was rough and hungry. Brady gave a hasty blind wave of his wand and the door slammed closed. The wand clattered and rolled away on the wooden floor. Brady's hands moved to catch the shorter man's face as Dan's fingers dug their way beneath Brady's undershirt to travel is torso. The force of Dan's pounce made Brady stumbled back a few steps. He made no protest to the 'hello'-less fondling. What bleeding idiot would protest this?

Clothes began hitting the floor. Brady slung away his tie and dress shirt before his hands seized Dan's neck again. He pressed back, tilting Dan's head as he shoved his tongue down for a taste. The hands on his torso scrambled to lift the Brady's remaining undershirt. Brady finally broke away from the snog to hike the undershirt over his head. Dan's mouth leapt to his chest before the shirt even hit the floor.

Brady mumbled an appraising, "Fuck," as he watched Dan's head descend and felt a moist tongue sliding from his sternum to navel. It gave him a fucking rush to both heads. Brady's eyes fluttered closed and he issued a soft grunt. He was very appreciative of the sudden and aggressive attention.

The dizziness subsided. Brady glanced down his front and feathered fingers through Dan's short yet silky soft locks as the other man placed kisses on the sensitive skin beneath his navel. He gave Dan an encouraging roll of his hips as calm fingers worked open his trousers. There was another swear on Brady's lips when Dan yanked the trousers and then pants off his hips fast enough to unsteady his stance.

Dan's scruffy chin slid over Brady's abdomen as the kneeling man tilted his head back to shoot up a lopsided smile. A breathy chuckle escaped Brady and he pushed his fingers through Dan's perfect hair again. "Definitely working your arse over at least three or four times before morning," he told the other man nonchlantly as Dan worked a hand over Brady's prick, coaxing up an erection.

"I was thinking more like...six," Dan replied boldly with a grin. Dan's jaw then went slack and Brady winced with wanton ache as Dan swallowed the length of his prick on the first go. Lips hit Brady's body and Dan's nose pushed into his lower abdomen.

Brady's head lolled back and his jaw went slack with panting moan; his fingers gripped tightly at the hairs they held. He met Dan's upturned gaze with a heavy-lidded one and watched the younger man go to work a chuckle of disbelief. Brady panted another approving swear and the hand in Dan's hair slid down to rest on the nape of the other man's neck. Dan's hands gripped onto Brady's naked hips as he sucked off Brady in a marvelously learned fashion.

"Bloody fuck," Brady hissed finally, unable to keep the pleased smile off his face as Dan's head bobbed against his hand. "Let's just make that an even ten."

"But we're in the loo of the bleeding Ministry, we can't--" Malcolm was interrupted by his own grunt as Brady dragged his hips up Malcolm's front once more.

Brady smiled wide against Malcolm's flush cheek. He rolled his shoulders out of the robes he wore and let them fall from his arms to the marble floor. Brady wrenched Malcolm's chin down to a placement of his liking and planted a kiss on the reluctant man's lips. Malcolm's hands--which had swung limply at his sides since Brady had first cornered him in the stall--went for Brady's tie and tugged it loose before yanking Brady's shirt free of his trousers.

There was a chuckle in Brady's throat when he drew back. "I knew you'd come around," he taunted in a low voice and pressed his mouth to Malcolm's once more. Brady's fingers went to his own belt to make quick work of the buttons but it was Malcolm's hands that pushed away the trousers in the mad dash to cop a feel of Brady's naked body.

Brady drew in a nasalized breath as he mouth continued to twist against the warm lips of his would-be lover. Brady palmed Malcolm's groin until the younger man had to break away for a gasp and then grit teeth over his own whimpers when Brady's hand pushed inside his pants.

Malcolm tilted his head back against the stall and panted, eyelids falling as Brady worked. "Just like seventh year," Brady whispered breathlessly against Malcolm's ear as he pushed down the other man's trousers. The remark got a delirious smile out of Malcolm before Brady had spun him around and pushed him face-first into the cool surface of the stall's wall.

A hand reached back to grasp blindly at Brady's shirt tail and trail it back to a naked hip. "This isn't Hogwarts," Malcolm said in a huff between his gasps for air. He groaned when Brady laughed and pressed against him.

"I know, you silly pouf," Brady said against the nape of Malcolm's neck before giving it a kiss. "No graduation to break things up here."

"Fuckin' right--Merlin buggering hell!" Malcolm gave a shout and futilely braced against the smooth surface of the wall when Brady's fingers raked over his arse.

After another heavy neck-wrenching kiss from Brady that left them both flush, Malcolm preemptively bit down on his bottom lip while Brady's palms smoothed down the lines of his hips. Brady smiled against the spot of back between the other man's shoulders. Malcolm shot a hand up to grip the top of the stall as Brady's confident hand tucked a massage into the curve of Malcolm's warm arse to relax the muscles.

"Every day that you're here, doll," Brady huffed. He gripped Malcolm's body fast to him and pulled the tight embrace down Malcom's toned torso as he went to his knees. Brady lifted Malcolm's manhandled shirt and wiped his tongue over the small of the other man's back. Malcolm hissed a swear and squirmed impatiently against Brady's touch.

Brady was grinning once more. "Every day," he repeated, now speaking to Malcolm's beautiful arse with a trill of hunger in his voice. Brady put firm hands on Malcolm to hold the other man in place as he slid his tongue down the tailbone of the Ministry's newest employee for a proper Brady Higg's introduction to the fold.

"The wife has been a bloody bint about the separation," Brady was explaining to his secretary when a younger wizard came in and dropped paperwork onto his desk. He didn't even acknowledge the other man and continued to layout his afternoon schedule with Bess--until he noticed that there was more than case notes in the delivery.

"Stop!" Brady barked at the first year attempting to squeak out his office door without an explanation for the small parcel he had snuck in beneath the stack of parchment. The boyish wizard flinched and halted with the door half-open. Brady pulled a terse smile when he glanced back up to his assistant. "Give us a moment, Bess."

The tall blond nodded and retreated out of the office. Stebbins waited until she had gone before he finally turned back and nervously shoved his hands away into pockets. He did meet Brady's gaze, but his eyes were nonetheless terrified. The older wizard's face set and the parcel was fished free to be tossed atop the desk's pile.

"What the bloody hell is this?" Brady demanded and gave the wrapped box a jab with his finger.

Stebbins teetered on his feet. "A present," he mumbled.

Brady rose a brow. "A what?" he prompted sharply.

The younger wizard anxiously scratched at his hair and crossed his skinny arms over a skinny chest. "A present," he repeated more firmly, "for Terry."

"Terry?" Brady's entire brow rose high and he sat back casually. "And why are you presenting me with gifts for my child?"

"Well...it's his birthday, yeah? This weekend."

There was no change in Brady's cool demeanor. "Are you the bribing sort, Stebbins?"

The question seemed to startle the young wizard. "W-what?" he stammered, arms falling back to his sides. "Mr. Higgs, in no way was it my intention to bribe--"

"So, it was out of the goodness in your heart?" Brady interrupted. "No ulterior motive whatsoever?

His even gaze seemed to be making the younger man squirm. It caused a slow smirk to pull at his lips. Stebbins seemed to be considering his words carefully. The color in the first year's face drained when Brady stood. "I-I can take it back," Brier rushed to offer.

"No," Brady countered lightly as he came around the desk to stare down at shorter Stebbins. "That won't be necessary. My son does quite like presents."

Brier's throat bobbed as he swallowed hard. He held the older wizard's gaze but there was still a fleeting nervousness in his slight frame; it twitched as though he might soon dart away. The tell-tale anxiety only bolstered Brady's interest. He thoughtfully dragged his teeth slowly over his bottom lip and watched the young wizard's eyes follow the movement.

"Do you like presents, Brier?" Brady prompted in the same calm tone.

The question seemed to rattle the other man. "Mr. Higgs, I'm not sure--"

Stebbins's words were cut off by Brady clapping a hand to the back of his neck. The young wizard's eyelids fluttered as he mouthed a soundless response. A knowing smirk was back on Brady's lips as he massaged the heel of his palm into the tense muscle of the man's neck where a racing pulse throbbed. Brier put a hand to Brady's front but he didn't shove the other man away. The touch hung there while both of Brady's hands smoothed down either side of the timid man's face and gripped his shoulders.

"I-I'm not--" Brier stammered but his fingers grabbed blindly at the taller man's shirt with gasp when Brady cupped the groin of his trousers.

Brady let out a breathy chuckle. "Sure you aren't, doll," he replied with a knowing grin and yanked the shorter man up into a kiss.

11. a jumbled up mess

Brady was anxious, that much was evident. It had been over a month since he'd felt another man in his hands. It was difficult to get away from the house with Harriet being such a light sleeper.

It was getting easier though. Harriet had begun to sleep more and more which was likely to propagate until the day came that she didn't wake. Whether or not she would live long enough to deliver their child was a toss-up. Her life had been in a balance for the past year. The doctors and healers never agreed on the shaky but inevitably dire prognosis. The answer seemed to change week by week. Some said a month. Some said six. And yet others gave an optimistic two years before the disease would kill her. It had Brady on edge. He could not stand or sit still for longer than a few seconds and he had tore a number of heads off at the office with the moody demeanor resulting from all the stress.

A fist raised and rapped erratically at the door in front of him. Brady hadn't told Malcolm he was coming, but in was nearly four in the morning and he knew Malcolm wouldn't stay out this late on a weekday. Brady hoped that there wasn't another man inside. He needed his best friend (and lover) right now before he really did lose his bloody mind.

The door opened a crack and a sleepy Malcolm poked his head out, shielding his eyes from the corridor lights with a hand. "Brady? What's wrong?" his voice was thick with sleep. Brady's response was to seize the other man's face with both hands and jerk him into rough kiss. Malcolm gave a yelp of surprise before returning the kiss as his hands went to Brady's arms.

Brady had no intention of wasting time on twenty questions from Malcolm as he acted the concerned friend. Brady wanted a shag. He wanted another man. Now.

Biting down on Malcolm's bottom lip, Brady pushed the other man back into the flat and kicked the door closed. The whole place was dark save for a hallway light that Malcolm had likely turned on as he wandered to the door. Brady didn't waste time with finding more lights. His hands had clawed their way under Malcolm's shirt to rove over the skin he was desperate to feel. Brady's breathing was quick and shallow on Malcolm's mouth which he peppered with hungry kisses.

Brady continued to back the other man toward the bedroom. Clothes fell haplessly to the floor as he undressed them in the dark. Malcolm blindly worked Brady's belt free as Brady put hot kisses on his neck causing hushed whimpers to escape Malcolm. When they hit a wall, Brady pressed his weight into Malcolm to pin the other man as he fondled Malcolm's naked body. The other man's taunt nooks and curves felt bloody fantastic to Brady's desperate hands.

Malcolm let out a groan against Brady's neck when Brady fisted the other man's hardened prick. Brady muttered an intelligible swear when Malcolm returned the favor. After several seconds of foreplay, both men were panting for breath. Brady bumped his forehead against Malcolm's as he let himself forget about the rest of his life. All that mattered right now was shagging and feeling every millimeter of Malcolm's skin.

Talking was entirely out of the question.

Pushing off from the wall, Brady watched Malcolm's hand work over his prick and gave an appreciative groan when a thumb massaged his head. Clapping Malcolm's strong neck, Brady continued to avoid the other man's eyes--worried that he or Malcolm would say something ridiculously stupid--and led Malcolm to the bedroom. Pivoting awkwardly on his heel, Brady hooked Malcolm's naked waist and slung the other man down on the bed before toppling to his knees himself.

Brady could hear Malcolm's labored breathing as the other man sat forward and wrapped Brady in an embrace. Malcolm planted his lips on Brady's chest and drew a soft cry out of Brady when he bit down on a nipple. There was remorse mixed with the arousal in the pants of Brady's breathing; regret for putting Malcolm through the ringer with his marriage, for making loyal Malcolm continue to wait. His hands went to Malcolm's face to tip the other man's head back so Brady could kiss him once more.

Gods he wished this could happen more often--every day even--like it had been before. Before, before, before... Brady couldn't change what he'd done. Nor did he want to. As much as it pained him to bench Malcolm, it would kill him to take away the new life he'd given to Harriet. But he could feel Malcolm beginning to slip away. There was nothing Brady could do without destroying it all.

Using his body, Brady pressed Malcolm back to the bed and let his fingertips graze over Malcolm's outer-thigh. The other man shivered under his touch and hungry hands splayed over Brady's abdomen. It has been much too long since their last shag.

Brady's hand instinctively went to the nightstand and groped for a tube-shaped object. He sat back when he'd found it and a hand went to Malcolm's arse to massage the muscles loose before opening the lube. Malcolm sighed out a groan when Brady's fingers followed the cool lubricant inside him. Brady put his free hand to the smooth skin over Malcolm's hip bone and slumped forward to let his lips find the other man's erection in the dark.

Malcolm arched suddenly when Brady dropped his jaw and took the prick into his mouth. Brady sighed in content as he swallowed over the erection he was servicing. He was only able to give a few pulls with his tongue and lips before he felt Malcolm's body tensing.

Releasing the prick from his mouth, Brady slid up Malcolm's body to find the other man's anxious lips with his own. Malcolm's legs instinctively raised and Brady pulled back from the kiss to place the ankles on his shoulders. Scooting forward, Brady sidled himself close enough to Malcolm to fold the other man back and used a hand to guide his prick to Malcolm's arse.

Malcolm let out a sharp moan as Brady pressed into him. Brady paused to let the other man relax as he pushed all the way forward and planted his hands to the bed while Malcolm's feet dangled on his shoulders. Brady stole away Malcolm's breathless whispers with a deep and heavy kiss as he thrust against the other man. Heels dug into his back while Malcolm's fingers bit at his arms. White hot flashes prickled through Brady's skin as he pushed. He fucked Malcolm harder and harder until Brady was sure his mind was finally numb.

Their bodies were covered in sweat as Brady panted groans on lips that were barking out swears and cries. Malcolm's fingers were then digging into the meat of Brady's arse to brace for the wonderful pain Brady was delivering. Brady kissed Malcolm for the gesture but he had to break away to shout as a dizzying pang of lust shocked his body.

Malcolm felt amazing. Brady hated himself for marrying a woman at times like this. He further hated himself for being selfish enough to think of the marriage in a bad light. But... Malcolm wasn't just a friend. He didn't deserve to be treated like leftovers. Brady had created such a fucking mess. Malcolm warranted better, but Brady couldn't let him go. Not now. Malcolm was the only force keeping Brady from doing something rash. Like killing himself. Or telling Harriet he was a queer.

Fuck. He needed--no, loved--Malcolm Brown so much it was ridiculous. But everything about Brady's life was ridiculous. 'Simple' just didn't take.

Brady tensed and arched with a moan as he suddenly came. The stress had him pent up like an angsty teen with no boy to stick his prick in. The momentary release of all the frustration made his body go nearly limp. Brady's face landed with a flop in the pillow at Malcolm's shoulder and he sucked for air. Malcolm's feet hesitantly left Brady's shoulders and fell back to the bed as Malcolm continued to make terse, unfilled pants and grunts. Brady winced in realization and mild embarrassment at his folly. Pulling out he moved to drop his body next to Malcolm. Brady used a hand to roll Malcolm away and onto his side before shoving an arm underneath the other man. Brady pulled Malcolm back to his chest and planted a breathy kiss to Malcolm's neck.

Breathing against Malcolm's shoulder, Brady's free hand reached over the other man's toned waist and encircled the waiting erection. Brady confidently worked his hand to coax Malcolm to climax as he brushed kisses over every bit of skin in craning distance of his neck. But Brady was soon dizzy and his temple drooped to Malcolm's cheek. Brady attempted to breathe calmly but his pulse continued to pound at his chest, throat, and even his thoughts; making it impossible for him to focus.

He never wanted it to end.

In his own moment of delirium, Brady hugged Malcolm to him and lifted his lips to put a strained whisper over the other man's ear. "I love you, Malcolm," Brady had to gasp to reel in the remorse cracking in his voice. "So fucking much."

"Oh, fuck off," Brady groaned and flicked what remained of his fag at Malcolm's legs. The drunken wizard lurched forward as he shoved himself upward from the stone floor; walking his hands and shoulders up the wall behind him. He swatted away his friend's attempts to help him to his feet.

Malcolm's face was stern and impatient. "You're not doing this again," he said firmly--though he had to shout to be heard over the music. He put his hands to Brady's chest in an attempt to pin the grouchy, taller man and prevent his escape. "This is not 'happy'!"

Brady scowled and gripped the front of Malcolm's shirt with both fists. "Depends on your fucking definition," he sneered and roughly shoved the other man away.

Brady gave himself a push off the wall and staggered a few steps before regaining his balance. A swagger was then back in Brady's step but his step was still in a daze. The tonic he'd taken had dilated his pupils and put a thin sweat on his skin--which was only added to by the humidity generated in the dance club packed full of bodies.

Before Malcolm could catch him, Brady had plunged into a crowd of dancing and gyrating pieces of meat. He let his hands wander as much as feet did with a grip here, a pinch there, and generally fondling any who would let him. On the anniversary of the death of your wife--who never knew your marriage was a complete sham meant to make your queer self feel better about her dying before she was even in her mid-twenties--you discriminated very little. And when you looked like Brady Higgs, there were few who would complain about the aggressive attention anyhow.

After a good five or ten minutes--perhaps shorter, perhaps longer; his brain wasn't in its highest functioning state--he became bored with the lackluster selection. Brady gave a roll of his eyes and began weaving toward the door. He had to get out of this stink hole and onto the next before Malcolm caught up.

Stupid fucking ponce, that Queen was. Tried to convince Brady (again) that promiscuity wasn't happiness. As if he knew anything of happiness--moping around after a worthless tripe of a pouf who wouldn't give a bleeding second look. Happiness. Fuck that. Honestly.

Brady was a half-step out of the door when a hand clamped down on his shoulder and pulled him back across the threshold into pouf-land. Fucking Malcolm... He shot back a glare and ripped his arm out of the grasp. "Shove off!" he slurred and hit the door once more.

Cold air was a welcome change on Brady's face. The club had been stifling. But once again, hands seized at him. This time Brady jerked away so abruptly that he nearly knocked himself off his feet. He stumbled into the wall of the building to brace for balance.

"I told you to fuck off!" he barked angrily and gripped at the brick to keep from falling flat on his arse. "I don't need your bleeding sympathy, Malcolm. I'm fucking sunshine and daisies over here, alright?"

It was then that a concerned face that wasn't Malcolm's swam through Brady's vision and hands went to his arms to hold on loosely. He heard a familiar voice say his name but he was too high to place how or why he knew the man.

"Who the fuck are you?" he muttered, eyes closing momentarily to combat the spinning of the world.

Hands touched his face. One swept over his brow while the other tucked limp locks of his hair behind his ears. Fingers were on his neck and then his chin--tilting his head gently as he was examined. Brady's heavy eyelids blinked slowly as he stared up from his slouching against the wall into worried dark eyes. A jacket was being draped over his shoulders when a hazy memory of the face came back to him.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Brady asked as Dan's hands fretted over him. "If Malcolm--"

A finger pressed to Brady's lips and he blinked wildly in surprise that someone would actually cut him off. "Malcolm had nothing to do with it," the scruffier wizard quickly corrected. "You practically molested every bloke in there. It was difficult to miss."

An indignant scowl crossed Brady's face and he pushed at the other wizard in attempt to make Dan leave. "Another bleeding good Samaritan--just what we fucking need. You going to marry a stupid dying bint, too? Is there a club now? Selfish Queer Fuckwits for the Terminal Muggle?"

Dan sighed and pressed back against the surly wizard. "You really can be an idiot if you set your mind on being one," he huffed on Brady's shoulder.

"Fuck--" was the only angry word Brady got out before the other wizard kissed him.

Fingertips pressed into the nape of Brady's neck and silenced him. Dan's brow brushed up against his. The tension left his shoulders and he rested his now droopy head back against the other man's. Brady's hands cupped Dan's scruffy warm jaw and the other man shivered under the touch.

"Your hands are cold," Dan muttered against the edge of Brady's mouth. He swallowed hesitantly and Brady's eyelids rose to half-mast to meet Dan's gaze. "If you say they're cold to match how you feel inside," the shorter and significantly more sober wizard began. He pressed another kiss on Brady's mouth before adding, "I'm revoking your speaking priveleges."
